INITIAL PROCEDURE:

  3. Advise our customers of any additional costs regarding wood replacement in the event that any rotted/damaged wood decking is found.

MATERIALS & INSTALLATION:

GAF Shingle Mate Felt Paper - a fiber woven fiberglass reinforced asphalt saturated felt paper.  A material that is time tested to lay and stay flat helping to prevent buckling of newly installed shingles.

GAF Storm Guard Ice and Water Shield - made with a time released adhesive which seals over nails and staples, and adheres to roof protruding items such as - plumbing vent pipes and skylights.  This material is installed at all gutter edges and valleys at a minimum width of 36 inches.  It is a very important component and is included in every GAF installation.

Flashing

All existing flashing is inspected and replaced as necessary.

GAF Shingles

All GAF manufactured shingles are applied in strict accordance with GAF factory specifications.  GAF shingles are made with a fiberglass mat using a micro weave system.  All shingles are made using asphalt with granules that are diamond cut and treated with stabilizers for strength and fire resistance, then colored and ceramically fired for a long lasting non-fading final product.

IMPORTANT!

Ventilation has proven to be one of the primary success factors of a properly installed long lasting roofing system.  It has been proven that proper attic ventilation will avoid many problems in the future which include ice damming, wood deck rotting due to condensation and the forming of mold and mildew.  Our estimators are factory trained to determine your needs and will advise our customers of these needs at the time of the estimate.
